The Hunger Games: From Boook to Screen.

"The Hunger Games" originally written as an adventurerous science fiction novel is soon to be
a major motion picture shown across the globe. Suzanne Collins' book is by far the best I have read in this genre category and agree completely with the Twilight Saga writer: Stephanie Meyers, that 'The Hunger Games' are an obsessive compulsive read and is just a completely amazing story.

But, in my own words I can definaetly say that this story is by far one of my favourites now. Along with Maria V. Snyders 'magician or hero from the slums' stories, it is quite a similar narrative which I am highly fond of; a troubled but selfless youth who by no option or decision of their own has to overcome countless challenging acts. And in the end shows just how powerfull and meaningfull they really are.
'The Hunger Games' has a similar narrative, only there is no magic. Only a world set in the future, where hovercrafts fly and your home is a struggling poverty filled district. And where 'the odds may ever be in your favour' as it could be YOU who is picked at random to play a deadly game; when winning will make you famous and losing means certain death...

Now, many books over the years have been turned into screenplays and been created into Motion Pictures. But, will the Director do Suzanne Collins justice?
As over the years, I have ssen many books portrayed into films. Although, they only seem to just a typical reflection of the stories narrative.
Peter Jackson did The Lord of the Rings and that turned out fine. Several directors even attempted to do the Harry Potter Chronicles. And even though dear Johanna Kathrine Rowling smiles along in her interviews saying that her stories have been portrayed with justice, is she really happy? Or has her Cash trigger happy Botox just taken over a bit too far? (No ofefnce JK! I'm just making apoint here)

So, will this be the same fate for our new beloved writer Suzanne? I hope not.

As a result of this, I am going to see the film for myself. With my book in hand and a notepad and pen at the ready; I'm going to be as cryptic as possible. And just wait and see if the filmn really is just as good as the book itself.

Check it out on IMDB and see it with your own eyes: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1392170/

The Immortals in 3D- 29th November 2012

The Immortals: a terrific tale; gruesome filled, adrenaline action packed and has stunningly beautiful visuals.

It delivers the story of young greek: Theseus. The son of a religious peasant woman and possibly the mighty God: Poseidon.

Starring John Hurt as the narrator of this epic war legend, with his sincere God-like voice he tells the story of one brave mans rise (Henry Cavil)  against the terrifying King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) who wishes to release the imprisoned deadly Titans against the world and to defeat the Almighty Zeus (Luke Evans)
In order to do this, the story involves characters in a race against time to find the most powerful weapon on Earth: The Epirus Bow. With this, man can either rule or destroy the World.

I went to view this film at the "Vue" Cinema at the Lowery Centre in Salford Quays. My partner and I had decided it was time to test out the much talked about film with anticipation to compare it with the seemingly attractive trailers we had already previewed.
This trailer can be viewed in my last blog.

We decided to watch the film in 3D and I think this has benefit my opinion making on the film greatly; as many people watched it in HD Digital Viewing I don't think that the audience thought the film was visually that great. Whereas in 3D it really compliments the Movie. It was outstanding to watch, there was so much depth and detail to observe.
The talent of each performer was also incredible to watch; with Mickey Rourke playing the type cast bad guy trying to take over the world and John Hurt as a typical well educated form- the couple of well known actors did an amazing job playing each role to perfection!
Then, there's drop dead gorgeous: Henry Cavill. Usually seen as the sidekick character he finally makes the main front character: Theseus. The hero of our story and I think for all the people attracted to Men...the one we all check out; his character is strong hearted, full of courage and has an amazing physique to show. And now, mentioned before hand: the sidekick characters. A long range list of actors from Luke Evans to Isabel Lucas also star in the movie.

These are pretty much the 'bare bones' of the film and as some people may read this review but may have not seen the film, I've not going to give you every little detail which makes up the 'flesh' of the Film. THAT is something you have to do yourself.

The action isn't over done, the violence isn't too much and the "intimate" scenes are just right!

This film would be great for guys in general, the average of adolescents and all those myth-loving geeks out there. So, see the film & enjoy it!
